Consideration and action on COS 09-025 a concession services contract with Fat Freddy's Catering, LLC for Concession Services at City Hall.

Motion:
I move to approve COS 09-025 a concession services contract with Fat Freddy's for concession services at City Hall.
Background:
April 9th 2009 Council approved a transfer of funds sufficient to complete the interior build out of the cafe area at the New City Hall. The city also issued a Request for Proposal for concessionaire services. Besides normal advertising the city also sent the proposal to 24 registered city vendors.

There were two vendors who submitted proposals. Based on those two proposals received it was determined that Fat Freddy’s was the most qualified candidate.

With the completion of the interior build out of the café space we are now ready to issue an operating lease agreement with Fat Freddy’s for the cafe operations. The lease is for one year with options for up to 5 one year extensions.

Financial Impact Statement:

The operational costs were approved by the Mayor and Council as a part of the FY2010 budget within the Public Works Facilities division.  No revenue had been budgeted for this lease, rather the vendor will pay a percentage of his gross sales back to the city in an effort to capture some or all of the operational costs associated with the leased space. Operational costs are expected to be water, electricity, gas, and trash service.
