| Background: |
|
A standardized Facility Use License document will allow Economic Development staff to expediently license space to qualified businesses for the purpose of high-quality job creation in the city of Surprise. The AZ TechCelerator offers space as well as a growth program for qualified startup companies. Licensing the space, as opposed to leasing it, allows the city of Surprise more flexibility in both engaging and terminating tenant agreements. All prospective licensees are qualified by an application, business plan and their ability to enhance the community in the future.

The approval of the facility use license agreement template has no direct financial impact to the city of Surprise. Financial impact will be assessed as individual agreements come forward using this template.
