The Police Department has been awarded grant funding in the amount of $8,000 from the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) for the purchase of computer and forensic software equipment. The project titled "Urban Area Assessment Teams -Terrorism Liaison Officers (TLO) Enhancement" has been funded under the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) for $8,000. The grant program is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Grant Program.

This item has not been approved by the Mayor and Council in the FY2010 budget. Due to the circumstances outlined in the attached budget transfer memo, $8,000 will be required to be transferred from account 21112-191-112-38992-20001 (Unforeseen Revenue/Grants) to 21111-341-311-37165-27086 (FY2009 UASI TLO 555821-01). Upon approval of this item, it is anticipated that all funds will be expended by September 30, 2010. Any associated operating costs of this item have been included in the current year base budget or have been planned for the following fiscal year.
